Bor Hamat was dug in soft clay layers, and its walls are held by massive stones made of local limestone. We will walk on a green-marked trail that climbs to the eastern plain of the bor. The trail leads into a desert ravine surrounded by terraces built around 2000 years ago.

The trail winds right and then left and descends into a small channel. Inside the channel, the trail continues with blue markings. We turn left and exit the channel heading southeast. During the ascent, the landscape gradually reveals itself until suddenly we see the entire canyon spreading out before us at our feet. We recommend taking advantage of the stunning views to take pictures and have a water break.

Return options:

On foot – we will return along the trail with the blue markings all the way back to the parking lot. Along the way, we will enjoy surprises that will catch our eye: ancient Atlantic cedar trees, caves hidden in the rocks, and ancient cisterns built under the hanging cliffs of the channel’s northeast rocks. They were used to store seeds and belongings during long journeys. After a rainy winter, it’s a pleasure to dip into the warm water of the cistern at the end of the trail.

["post-904","trail","type-trail","status-publish","hentry
["GET
